Office Manager / Bookkeeper

Job Summary
This is a TEMP position to cover maternity leave.

Under the direction of the Library Director, the Business Manager works to maintain the daily budgetary operations. Daily duties also include processing of incoming mail, bookkeeping, cash handling, timekeeping, and accounts payable and receivable.

Responsibilities

  • Daily cash register reconciliation and weekly deposits
  • Prepares regular financial reports and budgets for managers
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll and benefits for all staff
  • Monthly and Quarterly wage reporting duties of IMRF, Unemployment, FIT and SIT
  • QuickBooks entries accounts payable and receivable including monthly bank reconciliation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Business Management
  • Three (3) years’ experience in bookkeeping and accounting, basic understanding of Fund Accounting
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment regulations
  • Experience and proficiency with a variety of computer software/applications, including QuickBooks and Excel
  • Capacity to work flexibly and confidentially with staff and vendors
  • Excellent attention to detail

Working Conditions

  • Monday – Friday set schedule in person
  • This position can be part-time or full-time
  • Access to reliable transportation

Pay: $26.00 per hour
