Reports to: Director, Material Management


Purpose:

The job holder will direct and coordinate the activities of the inventory control unit with all AUC departments, the controller's office and the procurement office.


Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of the inventory control unit with relevant offices
  • Manage all the administrative and financial work related to custody and movement of the equipment and furniture owned by the University
  • Design the required forms and tags required according to ASHA regulations
  • Plan and manage the annual and random physical inventory of all the University stores and finalize the financial reconciliation statement required for the controller and internal and external auditors
  • Mange the all-disposal bidding process of the university surplus and not needed equipment, this includes value estimation, advertising, analyzing the bids, negotiating the buyers and the final delivery
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Experience:


  • University degree
  • Minimum of five years in Inventory control activities with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience
  • Strong experience in compliance, internal investigation, and Labor Law matters


Skills:

  • Excellent management abilities, a sound business understanding experience in fixed assets and Inventory control
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting, good mathematical aptitude
  • Familiarity with Inventory and Bar-coding techniques, purchasing systems, procedures, laws and organizational interfaces
  • Team oriented
  • Excellent planning, organizational and oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as to analyze data and make recommendations for proper control systems
  • Knowledge of utilizing electronic data systems and related computing business applications and concepts
