Overview

Duties
- Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans that promote literacy, numeracy, physical activity, and social-emotional skills aligned with developmental milestones.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that support early intervention strategies and special education needs when applicable.
- Monitor and document each child's progress through observations, assessments, and standardized testing methods to tailor instruction effectively.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to support child welfare and ensure consistent communication about developmental milestones and classroom activities.
- Manage daily classroom routines efficiently while maintaining high standards of childcare and preschool experience best practices.
- Incorporate Montessori principles or other educational philosophies into lesson planning to foster curiosity and self-directed learning.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with toddlers or preschool-aged children in early childhood education settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Experience with curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, and teaching physical education to young children.
- Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and working with children who have diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with children, families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Experience utilizing standardized testing tools for early childhood assessment purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to plan lessons that incorporate daycare or private school standards while fostering a nurturing environment rooted in child welfare principles.
