On-site IT Support Engineer - Full-time

Technical Support Engineer / Help Desk (Los Angeles/Hancock Park area)

We are looking for a full-time IT Help Desk / Tech Support Engineer, who can provide friendly, professional and quality technical assistance in a school environment. The ideal candidate will be customer service orientated, responsive and responsible, organized and professional, and one who works will with others as well as on their own. Candidate must be willing to learn and gain experience, both on their own as well as taking instruction from IT Management! The experience and mentoring you will get in this position will contribute towards your success in this position!

Job Description:

The IT Support Engineer / Help-Desk is responsible for all on-site aspects of Information Technology, mainly focused on hardware devices. Success in this position means that all hardware is properly tracked and kept in regular working condition and that outages of any type are rectified in an efficient manner. The IT Support Engineer / Help-Desk reports to IT Management and to the COO and is an integral function to the Operations of the school.

Customer service and desire to help people in a friendly and professional manner is of the utmost importance!

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Act as on-site IT Help Desk and troubleshoot any IT issues as they arise
  • Manage IT hardware inventory, including the following:
  • Tracking of location of all hardware
  • Receipt of employee acknowledgement of IT rules and regulations for school hardware devices
  • Preparation of hardware for use by intended recipient
  • Installation of hardware in needed location
  • Supporting hardware and software issues, escalating to IT Management when necessary
  • Ensure network is running at optimal efficiency
  • Check status of IT-related supplies, including printer paper, toner, etc., and manage reordering of such supplies
  • Train staff on use of IT software systems and hardware
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the COO and/or IT Management

Ideal candidates should possess the following skills or be ready and eager to learn:

  • Prior experience providing hardware and software support for operating system platforms including Microsoft Windows 7/8/10/11 and Mac OS X versions, on a domain environment
  • Joining computers to a domain
  • Office 365
  • Google G Suite / WorkSpace
  • Virus/malware removal
  • Installation of operating systems, drivers, and printers
  • Computer hardware upgrades and troubleshooting
  • Experience with iPads
  • Ability to troubleshoot and research issues and find appropriate resolution steps when necessary.
  • Recognize when to ask for assistance
  • Research and understand new and emerging computer related products and technologies that relate to the school setting and needs.
  • Great time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and work on several different projects simultaneously
  • Provide excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Work well with users one-on-one with great patience
  • Strong communication & organizational skills (be able to draw up steps that users can follow)
  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done, with a smile

The following experience is a plus:

  • ChromeBook experience
  • SmartBoard experience
  • iPad management
  • Prior work experience in a school setting is a huge plus

School Description

We are a private K-8 school offering a dual curriculum (English and Hebrew/Judaic Studies). We take pride in the technology we offer our faculty/students and have many SmartBoard’s, iPads, Laptops (both Windows and Mac versions), ChromeBooks and more.

Compensation:

$22-$24 per hour plus available benefits below.
Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm
Fridays 7:30am-2pm
Occasional need to stay late (to address items that can't always be done while school is in session)
