The Role
As an Open Water Lifeguard at Red Sea Global Hospitality, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests at all aquatic facilities within the resort. This includes overseeing the pools, beach areas, and any water-based recreational activities. Your presence and vigilance are essential in maintaining a safe, enjoyable environment for all guests while also ensuring adherence to safety protocols and resort policies.

Key Areas of Responsibilities
Please note that the responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive. Red Sea Global Hospitality employees continuously innovate in caring for the needs of the business, their guests, and their colleagues. As Open Water Lifeguard, you will need to:

Monitor the safety of all guests using the resort’s swimming pools, beach areas, and other water-based recreational spaces, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.

Maintain constant vigilance, observing guests and monitoring water conditions for any signs of distress, accidents, or hazardous behavior.

Provide immediate response in the event of an emergency, including water rescues, administering first aid or CPR, and ensuring that appropriate medical assistance is called when needed.

Ensure that all safety equipment, including life jackets, rescue tubes, and first aid kits, is in place, functional, and accessible at all times.

Enforce resort rules and regulations, including safety guidelines for swimming, diving, and other water activities, ensuring that guests have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Maintain clear communication with guests regarding safety procedures, pool hours, and any restrictions, ensuring guests are informed and feel comfortable in the environment.

Assist in the supervision of poolside and beach areas, ensuring proper hygiene standards are maintained, including the cleaning and organizing of pool furniture, umbrellas, and towels.

Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or incidents that could affect guest safety to the relevant departments for prompt resolution.

Provide assistance with organizing and managing resort-sponsored water activities or aquatic fitness programs, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants.

Maintain a high level of fitness and readiness, participating in regular training drills to ensure response time and rescue techniques are up to date.

Ensure compliance with all resort health, safety, and environmental regulations, including proper sanitation of water areas, safe use of aquatic equipment, and guest safety.

Act as a first responder in any medical emergencies, providing first aid and assistance until professional medical help arrives.

Maintain daily logs of incidents, accidents, and guest interactions, reporting to the Recreation or Safety & Security Manager as necessary.

Ensure that all guest areas, including poolside, beaches, and water facilities, are clean, well-maintained, and free of any safety hazards.

Assist in the setup and breakdown of water-based recreational events or activities hosted by the resort.

Foster a welcoming and professional environment, promoting the resort’s values of hospitality, guest service, and safety.

Participate in regular lifeguard training sessions and stay updated on best practices in water safety, emergency response, CPR, and first aid.

Maintain up-to-date certifications in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR as required by resort policies.

Support and collaborate with other departments, including guest services and security, to ensure a seamless and safe guest experience.
