Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled OpenStack Engineer to design, deploy, configure, and manage our private cloud infrastructure based on OpenStack.The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience implementing OpenStack in multi-node, production-grade or PoC environments, including networking, compute, storage, high availability, and automation.

You will be responsible for building a reliable and scalable OpenStack cluster for our internal cloud platform using compute nodes, controller nodes, and storage backends (Ceph or similar). The role requires strong Linux, networking, virtualization, and automation expertise.

Key Responsibilities

OpenStack Deployment & Configuration

• Design and deploy multi-node OpenStack environments (controller, compute, network, storage nodes).
• Install & configure core OpenStack services: Keystone, Glance, Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Horizon, Swift, Heat.
• Implement and manage SDN/virtual networking (VXLAN, VLAN, GRE).
• Configure Neutron networking, routers, security groups, floating IPs.
• Integrate Ceph or LVM-based storage for Cinder/Nova/Glance.

Cloud Architecture & Automation

• Create architecture diagrams, low-level design (LLD), high-level design (HLD).

• Automate deployment using Kolla-Ansible / TripleO / Packstack / Terraform / Ansible.

• Optimize compute, networking, and storage performance.

Operations, Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Monitor and maintain health of OpenStack cluster.

• Troubleshoot issues related to:

• hypervisors (KVM/QEMU)

• Neutron networking (bridges, tunnels, DHCP, L3 agents)

• Nova scheduling & instances

• Cinder/Glance storage backends

• Handle upgrades, patches, scaling, and capacity planning.

Security & Governance

• Implement cloud security best practices.

• Manage identity and access management (Keystone).

• Ensure proper tenant/project isolation.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

• Create internal documentation for deployment steps, runbooks, and design architecture.

• Provide knowledge-transfer sessions to the internal team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 3+ years hands-on experience with OpenStack deployment (production or PoC).

• Strong Linux administration (Ubuntu / CentOS / RHEL).

• Expertise with:

• KVM/QEMU virtualization

• Neutron (ML2, OVS, OVN)

• Ceph, LVM, or NFS storage

• HAProxy, Keepalived, MariaDB/Galera cluster

• Strong understanding of:

• VXLAN/VLAN/bridging

• routing, switching, firewalls

• IPv4/IPv6 networking

• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Bash/Python scripting.

• Strong troubleshooting & system performance optimization skills.

Preferred (Optional)

• Experience with Kolla-Ansible or TripleO.

• Experience in Telco NFV, OpenShift, Kubernetes.

• Red Hat certifications (RHCE, EX210, EX310, RHOSP).

• Experience with high-performance or multi-node computing clusters.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields. (Equivalent experience acceptable.)

Pay: Rs200,000.00 - Rs300,000.00 per month
