Operations / Dispatch Manager

Overview
The Dispatch Manager oversees the daily coordination of crews, trucks, and job schedules to ensure efficient, on-time, and high-quality service. This role requires strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly. Responsibilities

  • · Daily Dispatch & Scheduling
  • · Maximize all resources to fill out all possible job opportunities
  • · Create, manage, and adjust daily crew and truck schedules for local and long-distance moves
  • · Assign crews based on skill sets, job requirements, and availability
  • · Monitor job progress throughout the day and proactively resolve delays or issues
  • · Ensure DOT compliance for drivers, logs, and vehicle assignments
  • · Communication & Coordination
  • · Serve as the primary point of contact between office staff, movers, drivers, and customers
  • · Communicate job details, expectations, and updates clearly and promptly
  • · Support crews with real-time problem solving while maintaining professionalism and efficiency
  • · Operational Oversight
  • · Review job files, inventory sheets, and special instructions before dispatching crews
  • · Track equipment, truck maintenance needs, and moving supply levels
  • · Facility care: Buildings and grounds maintenance
  • · Warehouse management: working with the warehouse guys to keep things running smoothly and verifying that the warehouse is kept clean and orderly.
  • · Fleet: Organization of the trucks and trailers and making sure to communicate issues with the Mechanical team, including annual inspections etc.
  • · Ensure accurate documentation for billing, timekeeping, and job completion
  • · Customer Service
  • · Provide timely updates to customers regarding arrival windows, delays, or changes
  • · Handle escalations with empathy, clarity, and a solutions-focused approach
  • · Support the sales and operations teams with scheduling insights and capacity planning
  • · Team Leadership
  • · Train, coach, and support movers and drivers on procedures, expectations, and safety
  • · Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture
  • · Participate in hiring decisions and performance evaluations

Experience

Required:

  • · 2+ years of experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, or moving industry operations
  • · Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • · Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • · Ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure
  • · Proficiency with scheduling software, GPS systems, and basic office tools
  • · Valid C class driver’s license

Preferred:

  • · Experience in the moving & storage industry
  • · Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance
  • · Leadership or supervisory experience
  • · Familiarity with CRM or moving-industry software (MoveHQ, SmartMoving, Supermove)

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Experience:
