Operations Factory Manager (Dates Processing & Packaging)

The Operations Factory Manager oversees the end-to-end production process of our date processing facility. This role is critical in ensuring that raw dates are transformed into high-quality finished products efficiently, safely, and in compliance with international food safety standards (such as HACCP or ISO 22000)

Core Responsibilities

1. Production Management & Optimization

• Lead the daily operations of the factory, including sorting, cleaning, pitting, drying, stuffing, and packaging.
• Develop and execute production schedules to meet sales demands while minimizing waste and downtime.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) like throughput, yield, and labor efficiency.

2. Quality Assurance & Food Safety

• Ensure all products meet strict quality specifications (moisture content, size, appearance, and hygiene).
• Maintain rigorous sanitation standards throughout the facility to prevent cross-contamination.
• Manage relationships with quality inspectors and oversee audit readiness.

3. Supply Chain & Inventory Control

• Coordinate with the procurement team to manage the inflow of raw dates during peak harvest seasons.
• Oversee warehouse management, ensuring proper storage conditions (temperature and humidity control) to maintain fruit integrity.
• Manage inventory levels of packaging materials and additives.

4. Team Leadership & Safety

• Manage a diverse workforce, including production supervisors, technicians, and seasonal laborers.
• Foster a culture of safety, ensuring all staff are trained on machinery operation and PPE usage.
• Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs for technical staff.

Qualifications & Skills Requirement Description

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.

Experience:5+ years in food manufacturing (experience with dried fruits or nuts is a major plus).

Technical Knowledge Familiarity with automated sorting, vacuum packaging, and cold storage systems.

Compliance Strong understanding of HACCP, BRC, or FSSC 22000 certifications.

Software Proficiency in ERP systems (like SAP or Oracle) and MS Excel.### Preferred Attributes
