Key Responsibilities
- Production & Operations Management
- Manage daily operations of aluminium and steel fabrication workshop and site activities.
- Plan production schedules according to project deadlines and priorities.
- Monitor fabrication, cutting, welding, assembly, finishing, and installation activities.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
- Improve operational efficiency and productivity.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, suppliers, and clients.
- Ensure smooth workflow between workshop and site teams.
- Monitor project progress and resolve operational issues.
- Attend project meetings and provide operational updates.
Team Supervision
- Supervise supervisors, foremen, fabricators, welders, installers, and machine operators.
- Allocate work responsibilities and monitor workforce performance.
- Conduct training and motivate staff to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Maintain discipline and teamwork within the department.
Quality Control
- Ensure all fabrication and installation works comply with approved drawings and specifications.
- Implement quality control procedures and inspection standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC department for inspections and approvals.
- Reduce rework and material wastage.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and site safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections in workshop and site areas.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe working practices.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
Material & Inventory Management
- Coordinate material requirements with procurement and stores departments.
- Monitor stock levels of aluminium, steel, hardware, and consumables.
- Ensure proper material handling and storage.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor operational costs and reduce unnecessary expenses.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Track productivity, manpower utilization, and project performance.
- Support management in budgeting and resource planning.
RequirementsEducation
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 8–15 years of experience in aluminium and steel fabrication industry.
- Experience in managing workshop and site operations.
- Knowledge of façade, structural steel, metal works, and aluminium systems is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, machining, and installation methods.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and project specifications.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, production planning, and project scheduling.
- Good understanding of QA/QC procedures and safety standards.
