The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all construction operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role oversees multiple project teams, manages resources, ensures compliance with company policies, and drives operational efficiency across all construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:1. Project & Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day construction operations across multiple sites.
  • Ensure project schedules, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Monitor progress, identify delays, and implement corrective measures.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors.

2. Planning & Resource Allocation

  • Develop operational plans, manpower schedules, and equipment utilization strategies.
  • Approve procurement of materials and monitor inventory levels.
  • Optimize resource allocation to improve productivity and cost efficiency.

3. Financial & Budgetary Control

  • Prepare and manage operational budgets.
  • Monitor project costs, approve variations, and ensure profitability.
  • Review and approve contractor and vendor invoices.

4. Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)

  • Enforce compliance with safety regulations and quality control standards.
  • Conduct periodic safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

5. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate project managers, engineers, and support staff.
  • Build strong teamwork and communication between office and site teams.
  • Identify training and development needs for technical and managerial staff.

6. Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Represent the company in project review meetings and negotiations.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and maintain strong professional relationships.

7. Reporting & Documentation

  • Provide regular project performance reports to senior management.
  • Maintain documentation related to progress, safety, quality, and costs.
  • Support internal and external audits.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience: 10–15+ years in civil construction, with at least 5 years in an operations or project management leadership role.
  • Certifications (Preferred): PMP, OSHA, or equivalent construction management certifications.
