Job Summary: We are a fast-growing multi-store grocery retail startup with centralized warehouse operations. We are looking for a hands-on Operations Manager who can manage day-to-day store operations, supply chain coordination, and execution discipline, while working closely with senior management. This role is execution-focused, suitable for candidates who enjoy field work, problem solving, & process implementation.
Key Responsibilities: -
Store Operations
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations across multiple stores.
- Monitor ASM's and Store Manager's performance.
- Ensure SOP, hygiene, and customer service standards are followed.
- Track store KPIs such as sales, availability, shrinkage, and discipline.
Team & Performance Management
- Manage & guide BDM, ASMs, Inventory Manager, IT Admin, MIS, CRM & Marketing teams.
- Conduct regular store visits and operational reviews.
- Identify underperforming stores and implement corrective actions.
Inventory, Warehouse & Logistics Coordination
- Ensure timely store replenishment from central warehouse.
- Coordinate with Inventory Manager for stock planning and control.
- Monitor warehouse, logistics, and packaging operations.
- Reduce stock loss, expiry, and wastage.
Systems, MIS & IT
- Ensure POS systems and store IT infrastructure are working properly.
- Use MIS reports for operational decision-making.
- Ensure data accuracy and timely reporting.
Manpower Planning & Expansion Support
- Prepare manpower requirement plans and share with HR.
- Support new store openings with operational readiness.
- Ensure quick stabilization of new stores.
What This Role Does NOT Handle
- No independent hiring or firing authority.
- No salary or purchase price approvals.
- No financial decision-making authority.
(These remain with Management to ensure strong governance.)
Required Skills & Profile:
- Strong experience in retail or grocery operations.
- Hands-on, execution-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment.
- Good coordination, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently to stores and warehouse.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in multi-store retail/grocery/FMCG distribution.
- Exposure to POS / ERP systems.
- Candidates from organized retail chains are preferred.
