Operations Support Director

Job Purpose:

The Operations Support Director is responsible for leading and managing EDECS’s core operational support functions across all operating sectors — Marine, Infrastructure & Utilities, and Bridges — ensuring that company assets, systems, and processes effectively enable project delivery and business performance. The role combines strategic operational leadership with technical and logistical excellence, overseeing scaffolding, equipment, heavy machinery, batch plants, steel workshops, and warehouse management while driving efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement across all operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Lead the Operations Support Division in line with EDECS’s strategy and values.
• Develop and implement operations strategies for scaffolding, equipment, workshops, batch plants, and warehouses.

2. Equipment, Heavy Equipment, Maintenance & Tools

• Optimize equipment utilization and lifecycle decisions for maximum ROI.
• Ensure timely preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance.

3. Batch Plants Management

• Lead batch plant operations ensure quality and compliance.
• Enhance system controls equipment performance.

4. Workshops & Steel Fabrication

• Oversee mechanical, electrical, and steel workshops for quality and capacity.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, schedules, and inspection standards.

5. Scaffolding Management

• Manage scaffolding planning, erection, inspection and dismantling.
• Maintain full safety and quality compliance (BS/EN/OSHA).

6. Project Operations Integration

• Strengthening governance and project management maturity.
• Enhance coordination between operations, support functions, and sites.

7. Warehousing & Inventory Management

• Implement ERP-based tracking and asset classification.
• Build capable teams with clear SOPs and reporting.

8. Digital Transformation & Continuous Improvement

• Implement IoT and digital tracking for real-time asset visibility.
• Conduct audits and track KPIs to guide decisions.

9. Cost Control, Compliance & Governance

• Manage budgets and drive cost optimization.
• Develop policies and procedures for operational governance and risk management.

10. Culture, People & Client Focus

• Promote EDECS’s values, inclusion within the operations support organization.
• Foster teamwork, learning, and performance culture.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic, Production, Civil, or any equivalence Engineering (required).

• Master’s degree is (preferred).

• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction operations, including 7+ years in senior leadership.

• Demonstrated success managing diversified equipment fleets, productive assets and technical workshops supporting multi-sector operations (Marine, Infrastructure, Bridges).

• Strong background in equipment, plant, workshop, and logistics management.

• Proven leadership in Telematics/ERP/digital systems integration and operational process improvement.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
