Optometric Technician

Full-time Optometric Technician wanted for a busy private group optometry office. Wages are based on experience and certification. Full-time employees are eligible for health benefits and a retirement plan. Hours are M-F with rotating days off for a 4-day a week schedule. EHR knowledge preferred. Bilingual is a plus.

Duties include but not limited to: Taking patient medical histories; Preparing patients for examinations; Administering tests prior to the eye exam; Instilling eye drops into patients eyes; Assisting doctors during examinations; Performing Glaucoma medical testing; Dispensing contact lenses; Training patient contact lens classes, care and insertion; Updating and maintaining Electronic Health Records; Obtaining insurance verification and authorization; Scheduling appointments; Medical billing and coding; Vision insurance billing and coding; Preparing and sending correspondence to referring medical doctors; Communicating with, sending, and verifying prescription and medications with pharmacies. Applicant will be cross-trained to learn Patient Services as well.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour
