What You’ll Do

As one of two Organizational Development Trainers, you’ll help lead the design, development, and delivery of engaging training programs that support citywide initiatives and employee growth. You’ll collaborate with departments across the city to identify learning needs, create impactful content, and deliver training that drives performance and strengthens our teams.

Examples of Duties

  • Design, develop, and implement citywide training programs, including instructor-led sessions, e-learning modules, and virtual training.
  • Facilitate engaging training sessions on topics such as leadership and management development, communication, customer service, performance management, and process improvement.
  • Assess organizational training needs using a variety of tools and collaborate with departments to identify development opportunities.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and make data-informed improvements to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Research and apply best practices in adult learning, instructional design, and training technologies.
  • Facilitate team development, strategic planning, and problem-solving workshops.
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to align training initiatives with citywide goals and values.
  • Track participation and performance in training programs and maintain accurate records.

Experience and Training

We’re seeking a creative and collaborative professional who is excited to build something meaningful. You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Are a strong communicator and facilitator who can connect with diverse audiences.
  • Have experience using assessment tools, learning management systems, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Value teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in training and development, including at least two (2) years in designing training programs and two (2) years in delivering/facilitating training sessions, ideally in a complex or public-sector environment.
  • This is a full-time, exempt-level position.

Certificates and Licenses Required

  • Preferred certifications: PHR, SPHR, APTD, or CPTD.
