We are seeking 2 dynamic and compassionate Patient Care Coordinators to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Scheduling patient appointments for our Orthopaedic and Physical Therapy Clinics with our Patient Care Coordinating team. This is a crossed-trained position working with our Lansdowne and Aldie Clinics.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits through insurance portals and perform insurance verification to facilitate seamless billing processes.
- Review and update patient medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Collect Co-Pays and must be able to discuss and collect on account balances.
- Communicate with our MDs, DNP, PA, DPTs and Athletic Trainers to ensure positive, efficient and informative patient experiences.
- Provide kind and exceptional patient service by answering multi-line phones with professionalism, practicing proper phone etiquette, and addressing inquiries promptly.
- Maintain accurate filing of medical records and documentation review to support clinical operations and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with team members to improve office workflows related to medical office management, insurance verification, and appointment scheduling.
Skills
- Extensive experience with eClinicalworks EMR and PM systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, and a basic understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Excellent computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous medical office experience required.
- Strong customer service orientation paired with professional phone etiquette and clerical skills such as filing and data entry.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and problem-solving skills.
