Job Title: OT Technician
Department: Operation Theatre
Reports To: OT In-Charge

Experience Required: Minimum 2–3 years (hospital OT experience preferred)

Job Summary:

Responsible for preparing and maintaining the operation theatre, assisting surgeons and anesthetists during surgeries, ensuring sterile conditions, and managing OT equipment and instruments to support safe and efficient surgical procedures.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operation theatre before surgery, ensuring cleanliness and sterility.
• Arrange surgical instruments, drapes, and equipment according to the procedure requirements.
• Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nurses during surgical procedures.
• Operate and maintain OT equipment such as suction machines, cautery machines, and sterilizers.
• Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and equipment as per infection control protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of instruments, consumables, and OT activities.
• Monitor and restock OT supplies to ensure readiness for procedures.
• Follow strict infection control and safety protocols during all procedures.
• Dispose of bio-medical waste as per hospital and government guidelines.
• Assist in patient positioning and preparation before surgery.
• Coordinate with other hospital departments for smooth OT functioning.
• Comply with NABH / ISO quality and safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma / B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT / BOTT).
• Knowledge of surgical instruments and OT procedures.
• Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments with attention to detail.
