Outside HVAC Sales Representative

Role Overview
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for growing sales with existing and new customers by building strong relationships with contractors, vendors, and manufacturers. This role leads the sales process from opportunity through order follow-up, supports customer training and programs, and helps increase sales and profitability through consultative selling and product expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales process to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, manufacturers, and vendors.
  • Prepare for and execute sales calls, including prospecting and cold-calling new accounts (in person and by phone).
  • Create accurate job and/or stock quotes and provide product recommendations.
  • Follow up on open orders and outstanding job quotes to drive timely close and fulfillment.
  • Support post-sale transitions by coordinating with installation managers and installers as needed.
  • Call on assigned accounts according to company policy and procedure.
  • Develop new business with HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical contractors, as well as schools, hospitals, government agencies, and local municipalities.
  • Maintain current customer contact information (email, phone, mobile, etc.).
  • Monitor competitive activity and maintain price files for product lines within the marketplace.
  • Participate in ongoing product training and stay current on industry technologies and code changes.
  • Deliver contractor product training with support from manufacturers and vendors.
  • Troubleshoot, research, and provide technical/product information to support customer needs and company product lines.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of HVAC products and applications (forced air, mini-splits, boilers, controls, etc.).· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding customer service and a professional phone presence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent follow-up habits.
  • Ability to negotiate and help resolve conflicts when needed.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability; comfortable troubleshooting and researching solutions.
  • Comfortable with technology and office tools (computers, phones, tablets/iPads, and related equipment).
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, field-based sales environment.
  • Positive attitude and ability to perform well under pressure.

There is a commission aspect to the compensation for this position. Details to be discussed.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
