Job Description:

The Commercial Sales Representative is responsible for all sales activities in the commercial, industrial, government, and education market segment. This includes lead generation, prospecting, cold calling, follow ups, and managing closed deals through the fulfillment process.

Responsibilities:

  • Solicits and develops new accounts through research, cold calling, referrals and networking. Retains and grows existing accounts through hands-on account management and development of business solutions.
  • Receives and responds to inbound leads by phone, email, and in-store visit. Follows up after initial contact to close the sale.
  • Manages profit margins to remain within defined company ranges. Has fiscal responsibility for car sales and accepts responsibility for profit and loss.
  • Manages the customer selection and deal negotiation process, including financing/leasing options and equipment trade-in valuations.
  • Quotes accurate fulfillment lead times based on input from, and coordination with, the Service department, Parts department, and store management.
  • Prepares accurate deal paperwork, including financing application and documents. Manages all customer communication regarding payments/financing and status of the order until product is delivered.
  • Quality checks the product before final delivery.
  • Participates in delivery of product to customer site and in-services customer on proper operation and basic maintenance.
  • Inputs customer contact events in the company CRM software.
  • Assists with the intake process for new and used golf car inventory including unloading, recordkeeping and photos, condition assessment, staging and tagging.
  • Occasionally delivers product to customers using a pickup truck and trailer (company vehicle) when necessary.
  • Supports the store team by filling in as Consumer Sales Rep in the showroom when necessary.
  • Participates in periodic inventory counts for both golf cars and parts, as well as financial audits and sales research projects.
  • Develops marketing strategies to help increase sales of new and used inventory. Coordinates marketing efforts with VP of Sales, Marketing Manager and store's General Manager.
  • Participates in off-site marketing events including product demonstrations, trade shows, and other events (some of these may be on nights and weekends).
  • Delivers outstanding customer service to both customers and internal teams/departments.
  • Participates in all training required by manufacturers and company.
  • All other duties as assigned by store General Manager or Vice President of Sales.
  • The normal work schedule is Mon-Fri 8am-5pm but as a salaried employee and a sales professional, you may need to work more than 40 hours per week, especially during busy season.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training or company meetings or marketing events, sometimes with an overnight stay required. This is generally limited to a few times per year.
  • Occasional weekend shifts may be required, especially for sales events. This is generally limited to a few times per year.
  • Regular travel throughout the territory region (from Broward County south to Monroe County) to meet customers is required.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge and confidence in B2B sales, relationship selling, and multi-product-line sales. Confidence and ability to close new accounts by cold calling and prospecting.
  • Experience in commercial equipment sales is a plus.
  • Aggressive follow-up and proven sales closing skills.
  • Ability to understand assignments given and develop a plan to achieve goals and targets assigned.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Professional, customer-focused, quality-oriented, and committed to excellence in both the sales and fulfillment process.
  • Driven and self-motivated to succeed.
  • Ability to manage time to complete all work assigned while meeting or exceeding deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent presentation and sales negotiation skills.
  • Must exhibit good judgment: Know when to escalate issues and to whom. Research the facts prior to taking action or making a decision.
  • Must be reliable and report to work, appointments and meetings on time.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Job-related experience with Microsoft Office products, CRM software and/or ERP systems.
  • Must be versatile and perform “whatever it takes” regardless of job title or job description.

Required Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certificate
  • 5+ years of sales experience. (Some experience in B2B/Government/Education segment experience is preferred.)
  • Experience in equipment or industrial machinery sales is a plus.
  • Clean background check
  • Current valid Florida driver’s license, acceptable driving record
