ABOUT YOUR NEW JOB

Primary Function

Develop, implement and continuously improve on packaging quality programs and productivity for Supply Chain.

Verify adherence to packaging material quality program, plan and execution.

Ensure compliance to all regulatory requirements.

Working Relationships

Reports to Packaging Quality Manager.

Interface with all levels of Supply Chain (Procurement, Planning, Engineering and manufacturing) and the plant team (leadership, supervisors, operators and external crews) in communication, training and facilitating compliance.

ABOUT YOUR NEW JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads packaging project and site team during product/packaging development & implementation phases to ensure the packaging is compliant with all relevant food safety requirements, quality standards and shelf life requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring the packaging databases for specifications and all packaging data are up to date and aligned with business requirements.
  • Helps evaluation and application of innovative solutions or new technologies and materials in the design of packaging to deliver a consumer benefit in terms of product use, to enhance profit margin through material savings, or to reduce the environmental impact of our packaging.
  • Develops and Implements controlled documents, SOP’s and correct tools for enabling efficient and effective delivery of Packaging.
  • Implements cost savings initiatives to deliver against the annual cost savings target.
  • Takes an active lead role in the problem solving, planning and implementation of Lean activities within the function, department and business.
  • Ensure that the defined testing & approval procedures are in place and followed.
  • Sharing and ensuring suppliers understand HBC Quality & Food safety requirements.
  • Ensuring HBC Quality / Food safety requirements are followed by the suppliers.
  • Leading Food safety / GMP assessment at packaging suppliers to ensure risk free packaging is supplied.

ARE THSES YOUR SECERET INGRIDENTS

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in packaging development.
  • Strong understanding of Packaging operations, packaging materials, equipment, and processes.
  • Evaluate and applies innovative solutions/new technologies in the design of packaging to deliver a consumer.
  • Able to assess relative risks in and provide risk management and mitigation.
  • Able to manage multiple projects for and deliver OTIF.
  • Knowledge and alignment of the factors that support the wider business goals, help to drive these.
  • A clear & concise communicator, ability to communicate effectively across a cross-section of disciplines and staff level internally and externally.
  • Able to demonstrate a clear analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Have experience in or have knowledge of machinery used in the filling of components.
  • Understanding of technical drawings and how to read these.
  • Experience of working in a stage gate NPD process.
