About the Pet Cancer Foundation

At the Pet Cancer Foundation, we’re dedicated to transforming the lives of pets diagnosed with cancer by increasing their life expectancy and improving their quality of life. Estimates suggest that 12 million dogs and cats develop cancer each year, roughly six times the number of humans diagnosed annually in North America. We’re growing rapidly and need skilled digital experts to amplify our reach through targeted advertising.

About the Role

As the Volunteer Paid Ads Specialist, you’ll play a key role in maximizing our Google Ad Grant to drive awareness and engagement for our mission. You’ll focus on optimizing search campaigns to connect pet owners with vital resources and information, with opportunities to expand into other platforms like Meta, LinkedIn, and X in the future.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and refine our Google Ads account to effectively utilize the Ad Grant, ensuring compliance and maximum impact for awareness and educational outreach.
  • Craft Targeted Campaigns, developing strategies that highlight PCF’s resources, and informational content.
  • Monitor ad performance using analytics tools, adjusting keywords, bids, and ad copy to improve reach and engagement.
  • When funding permits, explore and implement paid ad strategies on channels like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X to broaden our audience.
  • Partner with Communications and other internal stakeholders to align ad messaging with overall branding and content strategies.
  • Establish tracking for key metrics, generate reports on campaign effectiveness, and recommend improvements based on data insights.
  • Stay updated on platform policies and best practices to maintain grant eligibility and ad account health.
  • Identify new ad opportunities that support PCF’s mission of educating and empowering pet owners for the betterment of their pets’ health.

About You

You’re a data-savvy digital marketer with expertise in paid search and a passion for using ads to make a positive impact. Your analytical skills and creative approach help turn budgets into meaningful connections, and you’re excited about nonprofit digital strategies. You bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in paid search management, preferably with Google Ads and Ad Grants for nonprofits.
  • Proficiency in Google Ads, Analytics, and related tools; familiarity with Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, or X Ads is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and optimize campaigns for better performance.
  • Experience ensuring ad compliance and maximizing grant-based advertising.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teams and reporting insights.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple campaigns efficiently.
  • Passion for PCF”s mission and interest in animal welfare and nonprofit marketing (experience in nonprofits is a plus, but not required).
