Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to join our legal team. We are seeking a highly capable and motivated employee, who has experience in civil litigation. Applicants must be able to multi-task and possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organization skills, efficient time management ability and strong attention to detail skills. This role requires effective project management abilities and the capacity to support attorneys in all aspects of legal work while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Duties
- Draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, discovery and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
- Assist in the preparation of cases for trial by organizing case files, managing documents through document management systems, and conducting document review.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather necessary information and documentation for cases.
- Ability to work independently with a positive work ethic is required.
- Maintain case files and ensure all documentation is filed appropriately in accordance with office procedures.
- Provide executive administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
- Good communication and customer service skills (must be professional and courteous).
- Experience with Florida e-filing portal system is required.
- Gather information, materials, and documents necessary to respond to discovery.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings and conferences with opposing counsel, judicial assistants and clients.
- Ensure compliance with court rules and procedures throughout the litigation process.
- Handle a case from inception to completion through various stages including pre-suit and litigation.
Skills
- Proven paralegal experience in a law office setting is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and not easily frustrated with deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat is required.
- Experience with project management principles to oversee case timelines effectively.
- Strong attention to detail for proofreading documents and ensuring accuracy in all documents, filings and correspondence.
- Ability to perform data entry tasks efficiently while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Familiarity with clerical duties such as filing, transcription, and maintaining organized records is preferred.
