Position Description:

The Paralegal supports Applied Medical’s Legal Department by managing a broad range of legal operations, including litigation support, judgment enforcement, contract administration, immigration processing, and corporate governance activities. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate legal records and enabling efficient legal workflows across the organization. The Paralegal partners closely with attorneys, company leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to support corporate legal functions, civil litigation matters, and business contracts within a regulated medical device environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file civil litigation documents, coordinate court filings, attend hearings, and support judgment enforcement activities.
  • Support litigation efforts by managing dockets, tracking deadlines, and coordinating action items with internal and external legal partners.
  • Track contract lifecycles, including contract intake, approvals, renewals, amendments, and termination dates, and provide status updates to stakeholders.
  • Draft, revise, and manage letters, agreements, and legal documents for various business groups while maintaining accurate records in contract management systems.
  • Maintain corporate governance records, including organizational documents, board and committee minutes, annual reports, and stock certificates.
  • Process immigration matters by compiling eligibility documentation, collaborating with internal stakeholders, tracking filing deadlines, and maintaining electronic case files.
  • Provide general administrative and operational legal support, including document editing, formatting, scanning, filing, and database maintenance.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the Legal department.

Position Requirements:

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience with strong academic or technical foundations.
  • Possess one to two years of full-time legal experience, primarily supporting litigation and contracts activities. Ideal candidate has experience in both areas, but company will train, as needed
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of civil litigation processes, immigration procedures, and legal documentation standards.
  • Apply understanding of contract documents, contract concepts, and agreement lifecycle management.
  • Exhibit strong drafting, editing, and proofreading skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally through written and verbal correspondence.
  • Work collaboratively with internal clients and legal team members at all organizational levels.
  • Manage multiple priorities independently while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and follow-through skills.
  • Use Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat proficiently and learn contract management or legal database systems quickly.
Preferred:

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Hold an American Bar Association approved paralegal certificate or paralegal studies credential.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance, litigation, contract lifecycles, and immigration processes.
  • Experience using contract management software or legal matter management systems.
