Position Summary:
The Banking & Financial Services Paralegal role is essential in supporting attorneys with a strong emphasis on banking & financial business cases. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Expertly navigate federal and state court procedures, including mastery of e-filing systems for both jurisdictions.
- Own critical scheduling tasks by managing hearings, court appearances, and discovery deadlines with precision.
- Draft essential legal documents such as notices of appearance, motions for extension, motions for default, and subpoenas with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Organize and maintain case files—both electronic and hard copy—ensuring seamless access and preparation of comprehensive binders.
- Conduct targeted legal research using platforms like Lexis and Westlaw to retrieve cases and support litigation strategy.
- Assist with document production workflows, including redaction, copying, and Bates stamping for efficient case preparation.
- Perform meticulous cite-checking and Bluebook formatting, and shepardize briefs and memoranda to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Analyze, index, and organize complex document sets and exhibits, supporting attorneys in building strong cases.
- Play a key role in deposition preparation, from organizing exhibits to coordinating logistics.
- Develop and maintain trial exhibit databases and deposition designation systems; contribute to drafting pre- and post-trial briefs.
- Deliver in-courtroom trial support, including technology setup, connectivity troubleshooting, and presentation management using OnCue.
- Communicate professionally across all levels of the firm, demonstrating a strong client-service orientation and collaborative mindset.
- Manage litigation cases end-to-end, from inception through trial and appeal, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
- Showcase exceptional organizational skills, balancing multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Job Requirements:- Familiarity with complex banking and/or financial services litigation required.
- Proven expertise in electronic discovery and document analysis for complex commercial litigation matters, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the process.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on litigation paralegal experience, demonstrating deep familiarity with case management from inception through appeal.
- Exceptional attention to detail and advanced proofreading skills, delivering error-free work under tight deadlines.
- Solid grasp of commercial legal principles and sophisticated litigation practices, enabling effective support in high-stakes cases.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, with the ability to apply procedural and strategic insights from pretrial through post-trial phases.
- Highly organized and solutions-driven, adept at managing multiple priorities and anticipating challenges in fast-paced environments.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, fostering strong relationships with attorneys, clients, and internal teams.
- Educational foundation in legal studies, with a Bachelor’s degree and ABA-approved paralegal certification (or Associate’s/Bachelor’s in Paralegal Studies) strongly preferred.

- Flexibility and commitment to workload demands, including willingness to work moderate to heavy overtime when required.
