Part-Time Bookkeeper (NetSuite, Government Contracts)

Position Summary

We are a growing engineering firm based in Knoxville, Tennessee, seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small business environment, can work independently, and has experience managing accounting processes with precision.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly
• Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with federal contract accounting requirements
• Support budgeting and cost tracking for government-funded projects
• Maintain and organize financial documentation for audits and reviews

Required Qualifications

• Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience (3+ years )
• Minimum of 3 years: hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite
• Familiarity with federal contracting regulations and reporting standards
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office software
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with engineering, construction, or technical firms
• Knowledge of DCAA compliance standards
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
