Part-Time Digital Content Creator

Compensation Range: $26/hr - $30/hr commensurate with experience

Overview:

The Digital Content Creator is a part-time role that will support and implement content strategies for various digital platforms to promote brand awareness, engage audiences, and increase service utilization. This position will focus on Housing Works Community Healthcare clinical and care coordination services including but not limited to primary care, care navigation, PrEP, behavioral health, harm reduction, and LGBTQ+ health. This role will be responsible for producing accurate and culturally relevant content on social media and other platforms, track and report on performance, and collaborate with other clinical and care coordination departments to develop innovative content and messaging.

This position requires a highly motivated and organized individual with strong communication skills, copywriting skills and the ability to manage multiple campaigns at once. Being creative, adaptable, and attuned to media trends are crucial to this role. This hybrid position will report to the Director of Digital Strategy and the Population Health Department based in Downtown Brooklyn. However, this position will travel to other Housing Works Community Healthcare centers and care coordination locations primarily located in Brooklyn and Manhattan as needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, distribute, and manage content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok) that promotes healthcare and care coordination services and initiatives.
  • Design and implement messaging and campaigns in collaboration with marketing teams to highlight programs such as primary care, psychiatry, therapy, prevention services, care management services, and other patient-facing departments.
  • Produce culturally relevant and accurate content that raises awareness about LGBTQ+ health, mental health, and health advocacy issues.
  • Photograph/film events for social media posts and stories (across multiple platforms).
    • This includes ensuring compliance to all legal documents as applicable
  • Collaborate with Director of Digital Strategy to maintain a strategic content plan and editorial calendar aligned with major health campaigns, awareness days, and organizational goals.
  • Report on basic social media analytics including views and engagement
  • Stay current with social media trends and apply best practices to healthcare-focused content.
  • Ensure all messaging adheres to brand standards and complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Support brand marketing by updating Canva templates as needed and adhere to Housing Works brand guidelines
  • Participate in meetings and special events as needed
  • Perform other departmental duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred combined with work experience in related field of marketing, communication, or other related field
  • 3 to 4 years producing social media content.
  • Healthcare and/or care coordination content a plus.
  • Skilled across multiple social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Proficient with Canva, Adobe tools, CapCut, and Final Cut Pro.
  • Familiarity with health topics such as HIV treatment and prevention, LGBTQ+ health, homelessness, harm reduction, and care coordination.
  • Ability to create clear, accurate, and stigma-free content that aligns with Housing Works’ mission and community values
  • Ability to manage deadlines under pressure with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in analytic dashboards and interpreting audience insights.
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills.
  • You will be asked to present a full portfolio of past work that reflects Housing Works values and shows your ability to produce culturally affirming content.
