Part-Time Insurance Billing Specialist

Join a growing counseling agency looking to add to their billing team.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and dependable candidate to work about 20 hours per week from home. We offer a flexible working schedule that you can help create. Preferred knowledge in medical/mental health insurance terminology, benefit verifications, and claims processing.

Responsibilities:

• Electronically prepare, review and transmit medical claims to commercial insurance payers
• Update patient records
• Applying payments per insurance EOBs
• Following up with insurance payers on outstanding claims, appeals within standard billing time frames
• Communicate with insurance carriers regarding billing and reimbursement
• Communicate with billing team
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations
• Performs related work as required and other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Basic Computer Literacy

- Be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team

- Possess exceptional organizational and time management skills

- Excellent phone and communication skills

- Ability to multitask with numerous insurance claims systems

- Maintain patient confidentiality as per HIPAA requirements

- Previous knowledge of insurance billing/medical billing

- Ability to communicate with insurance carriers

- Must have access to updated, well-working computer with virus protection

Job Type: Part-time
