Part-Time Property Manager/Bookeeper

Responsibilities

  • Manage property leasing processes, including showing units, screening applicants, and executing lease agreements in compliance with Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 guidelines
  • Oversee rent collection, payment processing, and maintaining accurate financial records using Yardi or OneSite property management software
  • Handle tenant inquiries, resolve conflicts professionally, and provide outstanding customer service to foster positive tenant relationships
  • Maintain property files, legal documents, contracts, and filing systems with meticulous attention to detail
  • Coordinate property maintenance requests and facilities management tasks to ensure properties are well-maintained and compliant with safety standards
  • Conduct regular property inspections to monitor condition and identify maintenance or safety issues
  • Assist with legal administrative tasks related to landlord-tenant law and lease enforcement

Requirements

  • Proficient with YARDI property management software system
  • Strong accounting/bookkeeping knowledge
  • Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles, including leasing and tenant relations
  • Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8 housing programs, Fair Housing regulations, and landlord-tenant law
  • Strong organizational skills with data entry, filing, and office experience; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and conflict management abilities
  • Knowledge of legal contracts, negotiation techniques, and upselling strategies related to property leasing and facilities management
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining compliance with legal standards
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer relationship management tools
