We are looking for a talented and passionate Part-Time Video Editor to help us showcase the magic of sewing through high-quality, engaging video content.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Part-Time Video Editor to take the lead on editing our long-form sewing tutorials. You will be responsible for taking raw educational footage and turning it into polished, highly engaging YouTube videos that keep our audience watching, learning, and inspired. The ideal candidate is a storyteller at heart who understands the YouTube algorithm, and knows how to pace a tutorial so it is both educational and entertaining.

Key Responsibilities:

• Long-Form Editing: Edit raw footage into clear, engaging, and high-quality long-form sewing tutorials specifically optimized for our YouTube channel.
• Platform Optimization: Utilize YouTube best practices for pacing, retention, hook creation, and visual storytelling to keep viewers engaged from start to finish.
• Motion Graphics & Visuals: Add clear text overlays, lower thirds, and basic motion graphics to highlight important measurements, fabric types, and sewing steps.
• Audio Mixing & Color Correction: Ensure all videos have clear, balanced audio and that our fabrics are color-graded accurately so their true vibrance translates on screen.
• Social Media Synergy: Understand how long-form content translates to short-form platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts) to potentially assist with pulling teaser clips.
• Collaborate: Work closely with the Mood Fabrics marketing team to ensure brand voice, style, and educational goals are met.

Hiring Qualifications & Requirements:

• Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Motion Graphics Skills: Working knowledge of basic Adobe After Effects for simple animations and text graphics.
• Social Media Savvy: A strong grasp of current social media video trends and what makes educational content perform well online.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to follow detailed sewing steps and ensure the visual instructions make sense to a beginner or intermediate sewist.
• Bonus Points: A personal interest in sewing, fashion design, or textiles is a massive plus! (Knowing the difference between chiffon and charmeuse helps when editing videos in this niche.)
