JOB SUMMARY:
The Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods while maintaining food safety, hygiene standards, and consistency in presentation and taste.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and present a wide range of pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked items
  • Develop new dessert recipes and seasonal menu items
  • Ensure consistency in quality, taste, and presentation
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene as per food safety standards
  • Manage inventory, storage, and proper handling of ingredients
  • Minimize waste and control food cost
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff when required
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Follow company policies and standard operating procedures

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, desserts, and pastry production
  • Creativity and attention to detail in presentation
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Basic English communication skills
  • Culinary certificate or relevant qualification is an advantage

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Flexible working hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand for long hours in a kitchen environment
