JOB SUMMARY:
The Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods while maintaining food safety, hygiene standards, and consistency in presentation and taste.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and present a wide range of pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked items
- Develop new dessert recipes and seasonal menu items
- Ensure consistency in quality, taste, and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene as per food safety standards
- Manage inventory, storage, and proper handling of ingredients
- Minimize waste and control food cost
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff when required
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
- Follow company policies and standard operating procedures
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, desserts, and pastry production
- Creativity and attention to detail in presentation
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Basic English communication skills
- Culinary certificate or relevant qualification is an advantage
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Flexible working hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for long hours in a kitchen environment
