Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Patent Specialist to manage
patent drafting, filing, research, and compliance. The ideal candidate must have
strong knowledge of patent laws, prior art search, IP documentation, and
coordination with legal authorities. This role involves guiding teams on
patentability and ensuring the company’s intellectual property is protected
effectively.
Key Responsibilities:

Patent Drafting & Filing
 Draft high-quality patent applications (provisional and complete).
 Prepare required documentation for patent filing in India and
international jurisdictions.
 Work closely with inventors, engineers, and R&D teams to understand
innovations.
Patent Search & Analysis
 Conduct prior art searches, freedom-to-operate searches, and
patentability assessments.
 Analyse technical documents and evaluate novelty, inventive steps, and
claim strategy.
 Use patent databases such as WIPO, USPTO, Google Patents, EPO, etc.
Patent Prosecution
 Manage correspondence with patent offices and examiners.
 Respond to examination reports, office actions, and legal queries. Track deadlines and ensure timely filings and renewals.
IP Strategy & Compliance
 Advise on IP protection strategies for new products and technologies.
 Maintain and update patent portfolios, legal records, and compliance
documents.
 Provide training to teams regarding IP awareness and patent processes.
Cross-Functional Coordination
 Collaborate with legal, R&D, management, and external law firms.
 Assist in handling IP disputes, infringement checks, and documentation
support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

 Minimum 5 years of experience in patents or IP management.
 Strong knowledge of Indian Patent Law, PCT procedures, and global IP
regulations.
 Proficiency in patent searches and using patent databases.
 Excellent drafting, analytical, and documentation skills.
 Ability to understand technical concepts and convert them into legal
claims.
 Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
 Preferred: IP certification or Patent Agent qualification.
Education:

 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Biotechnology, Law,
or related fields.
 Patent Agent qualification (optional but preferred).
Salary As per company forms and as per experience
