How you can make an impact:
As a Patient Service Representative, you will ensure all applicable registration and financially related data is captured accurately. You will contribute your stellar work ethic and provide exceptional service to every patient and visitor who comes to our Community Health Center.
Schedules Vary: Monday – Friday, day shift from 8 am - 5:00 pm
What You Will Do:
1. Welcome patients to the Paterson Community Health Center.
2. Explain insurance options and register patients.
3. Collect co-payments, provide receipts, balance daily records, and day-end reconciliation.
4. Update insurance information when appropriate.
5. Verify insurance enrollment, eligibility, benefits, and out-of-pocket responsibility.
6. Schedule appointments in compliance with current policy.
7. Obtain Consent for Medical Treatment and Release of Medical Records Information.
8. Accurately complete computer data entry.
9. Work in an organized, efficient manner to maintain an orderly flow of patients
10. Maintain a file system necessary for proper organization of work.
11. Scan documents.
12. Obtain patient release forms in accordance with patient confidentiality policies.
13. Make patient calls as directed by the physicians/providers and Nurse Manager.
14. Records and distributes incoming correspondence, mail results, medical documents, etc.
15. Confirm appointments as needed.
16. Answer incoming telephone calls and take accurate messages.
What you Bring:
§ A passion for helping patients.
§ A High School diploma or an equivalent of 1 to 3 years’ experience in an applicable healthcare setting is preferred.
§ Bilingual
§ 1 year of health insurance verification experience is desired, not required.
§ Professional attitude and appearance Interpersonal skills.
§ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
§ Creativity and resourcefulness.
