Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll and Benefit Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing employee benefits, processing the life cycle of payroll, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional support to our workforce. This position requires a strong understanding of benefits administration, payroll management, and accounting principles. The Payroll and Benefit Specialist will collaborate closely with human resources to enhance employee satisfaction and streamline processes.

Duties

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee benefits enrollment and changes.
  • Assist employees with benefits inquiries and provide guidance on options available to them.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding benefits administration.
  • Collaborate with payroll teams to ensure accurate deductions related to benefits.
  • Conduct regular audits of benefit plans to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Utilize Paylocity for data entry and management of employee information.
  • Prepare reports related to benefits usage and trends for management review.
  • Process payroll for employees, including calculating wages, overtime, bonuses and deductions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations
  • Maintain payroll records
  • Provide excellent customer services to employees and parishes

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in benefits administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Paylocity is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
  • Experience in human resources or corporate accounting is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in data entry with strong 10-key typing skills for accuracy in financial documentation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
