Payroll Clerk

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role is crucial in supporting the financial operations of our organization and requires a strong understanding of payroll management and accounting practices.

Duties

• Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, including calculating wages, deductions, and bonuses.
• Maintain employee records related to payroll, benefits administration, and tax information.
• Ensure compliance with governmental accounting regulations and labor laws.
• Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans.
• Prepare payroll reports for management review and assist with audits as required.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or concerns in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data is maintained within the payroll system.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role within accounting or finance.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial software; experience with Sage 300 is a plus.
• Knowledge of payroll management processes and governmental accounting regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
• A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not mandatory.
