What You’ll Do
- Process multi-state payrolls accurately and on time
- Serve as a primary point of contact—answer calls and support clients with payroll, timekeeping, and HR-related questions
- Manage payroll updates including wages, bonuses, commissions, W-4s, and other compensation changes
- Handle payroll deductions such as garnishments, child support, tax levies, benefits, and retirement contributions
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and employment laws
- Create, review, and analyze payroll reports; perform internal and external audits to identify discrepancies
- Maintain and protect confidential employee and client data across systems
- Train and guide clients on payroll systems and best practices
- Assist with payroll packaging and distribution as needed
- Identify process improvements and recommend solutions or services
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth payroll operations
What You Bring
- 4+ years of payroll processing experience (multi-state preferred)
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, including taxes, PTO accruals, overtime rules, workweeks, and W-2s
- Experience managing payroll deductions (garnishments, benefits, levies, etc.)
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and payroll/HRIS systems (ADP, Paychex, MPay, ReadyPay; Swipeclock a plus)
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven work
- Strong customer service and communication skills—comfortable working directly with clients
- Solid data entry and basic accounting skills
