Payroll Compliance- San Diego, CA

Full-time, Contract 1 - 5 months, possibly longer

In-Office | San Diego, CA, United States

$23 - 28 per hour (depending on experience), paid weekly

Choice of 3 shifts: Onsite, Monday to Friday

6:30 am - 3pm

7 am- 3:30 pm

7:30 am - 4pm

May be able to move to a hybrid role after 30 days, depending on meeting performance standards, and being able to meet deadlines independently.

Must be willing to take a wage determination assessment in person, onsite in downtown San Diego or do a proctored online assessment.

Responsibilities

• Payroll compliance: review past payroll, ensuring correct and accurate calculations of restitution.

• Certifying that payroll is accurate and the numbers add up.

• Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll information.

• Communicates findings and observations clearly and effectively.

• Comfortable working with detailed work.
  

Experience/Qualifications

• 2+ years of California payroll compliance

• Must understand California Labor Compliance

• Experienced in working with restitutions, amending certified payrolls and calculating multiple paychecks on certified payroll

• Experienced user of LPT Tracker required

• Strong knowledge of California payroll taxes and local tax rules.

• Proficient with payroll software and HRIS

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and data security for payroll records.

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to generate payroll insights and reports.

• Proactive with process improvements and efficiency initiatives.

• Effective communication and responsiveness to employee payroll inquiries.
