Payroll Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee and coordinate all payroll functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with payroll management systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, and Ceridian. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, HRIS systems, and benefits administration to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation. The Payroll Manager will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with applicable tax laws and governmental regulations, managing data entry, account reconciliation, and supporting financial reporting related to payroll activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing using various payroll software including Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, and others.
  • Ensure accurate data entry related to employee hours, benefits, deductions, and tax information.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting and account reconciliation procedures.
  • Oversee benefits administration related to payroll including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations; prepare and file tax reports as required.
  • Perform journal entries for payroll transactions and ensure proper debits & credits are recorded in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams on HRIS management, employee data updates, and reporting needs.
  • Monitor payroll processing workflows for accuracy and efficiency; identify areas for process improvement.
  • Support audits by providing documentation related to payroll transactions and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in non-profit accounting processes if applicable; handle accounts payable/receivable related to payroll expenses.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information at all times.

Experience

  • Proven experience managing payroll functions within organizations using systems like Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft or Ceridian.
  • Strong background in corporate accounting practices including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, journal entries, debits & credits.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping and technical accounting standards.
  • Experience with benefits administration processes and governmental reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations affecting payroll processing and reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar), HRIS platforms (Workday or UltiPro), and payroll management tools (ADP or Kronos).
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail with high-level organizational skills; capable of handling multiple priorities efficiently. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $91,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
