Payroll officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Officer with hands-on experience in UK payroll processing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations while ensuring compliance with UK employment laws, HMRC regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Process end-to-end UK payroll on a weekly/monthly basis

Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, overtime, bonuses, and deductions

Manage PAYE, National Insurance (NI), and pensions.

Submit RTI (Real Time Information) reports to HMRC

Handle payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data

Coordinate with HR and Finance teams for payroll inputs and updates

Ensure compliance with UK tax laws and HMRC regulations

Prepare payroll reports and support audits when required

Handle employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner

Requirements:

Proven experience in UK payroll processing

Strong knowledge of HMRC regulations, PAYE, NI, and pensions

Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar)

Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll reporting

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications: B.com, M.com, BBA and related degree

6 months to 1 year of experience working with UK-based organizations
