Job Summary

We are seeking a Part-Time Payroll Specialist to join our exceptional team where everybody counts! In this role you will prepare the payroll for many companies. Your responsibilities will include gathering information, managing data, using financial software and handling payroll taxes. A payroll specialist needs strong attention to detail, knowledge of the payroll software (or a willingness to learn), and excellent communication skills. This Payroll Specialist position is open because our most recent specialist was promoted! Daily Job Contributions

  • Keeps abreast of the payroll processing system and changes in wage/tax laws and applies changes as appropriate
  • Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with clients, both internal and external
  • Assist in data entry of new hires and new hire reporting
  • Assist with other special projects as required
  • Process wage garnishments and child support requests
  • Processes weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls
  • Performs retirement calculations, employer matching and contribution submittals
  • Performs Workers Compensation Audits
  • Processes quarterly and year end payroll reports, including 941, 940, multi-state tax forms, W-2, W-3, and 1095C’s.

Factors to Success

  • Experience with Payroll Relief preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent listening, written, and oral communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments under high pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work overtime if needed
  • Understanding details of full payroll processes
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential information and maintain confidentiality

Education and Experience

  • 2 years of experience with high volume Payroll preferred
  • Accounting and Human Resources experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of wage & hour laws
  • Familiar with state and federal taxes
  • Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with team
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Flexibility and ability to multi-task

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

  • Virginia Beach, VA 23452 (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Virginia Beach, VA 23452: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
