Duties
- Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried Team Members in a timely and accurate manner.
- Audit and verify employee time records, job cost coding, pay rates, deductions, and overtime calculations.
- Review payroll data for completeness and compliance with Company policies and applicable laws.
- Process employee status changes, wage adjustments, direct deposit requests, and other payroll-related transactions.
- Administer wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other required deductions.
- Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in accordance with Company policies and legal requirements.
- Respond to Team Member payroll inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies professionally and promptly.
- Review and reconcile labor hours charged to projects and cost codes.
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for public works and prevailing wage projects.
- Assist with Davis-Bacon Act and prevailing wage compliance requirements.
- Verify labor classifications, fringe benefit calculations, and wage determinations where applicable.
- Support internal and external payroll audits and compliance reviews.
- Assist with payroll tax reporting, quarter-end activities, and year-end processing, including W-2 preparation.
- Generate payroll reports and labor cost analyses for management as requested.
- Support workers’ compensation audits, unemployment claims administration, and other employment-related reporting requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll, personnel, and Company information at all times.
- Assist with new hire onboarding and payroll system setup.
- Support benefits administration and payroll deduction management.
- Maintain employee records and payroll documentation.
- Provide administrative support to Human Resources initiatives and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of payroll processing experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll practices, wage and hour regulations, and payroll compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Payroll experience within the construction industry.
- Knowledge of Plexxis ERP.
- Experience processing multi-state payroll.
- Ability to read, write and speak Spanish (Bi-Lingual).
- Certified payroll and prevailing wage experience.
- Working knowledge of Davis-Bacon Act requirements.
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems.
- Fundamental understanding of human resources administration and employment compliance.
Pay: $29.00 - $35.00 per hour
