Pediatric Dental Front Office, Insurance and Accounts Receivable Specialist

Tennyson Pediatric Dentistry is a local, independently owned pediatric dental office. Our multi-dentist office and team is focused on customer service and creating a great experience for our patients and their parents. We also strive to create a supportive work environment.

Our office is seeking a friendly, dependable, and dedicated front office team member, with experience and expertise in insurance verification and accounts receivable. Some traditional front desk roles also to be performed.

Our office utilizes Open Dental software. We participate with a variety of PPO dental insurance plans, as well as Medicaid/CHP+. We outsource the majority of our insurance payment posting to a 3rd party, however handle accounts receivable post insurance payment internally. We strive to use technology and integrated systems where applicable to work smarter, not harder.

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits and coverage prior to appointments. Contact parents when additional information is needed to verify insurance. Enter benefit detail into Open Dental software. Clearly communicate with front office team and parents coverage and anticipated financial responsibility. Coordination with clinical team as needed
  • Understanding of dental EOBs. Working between Open Dental and 3rd party systems to identify credits and balances, verifying accuracy prior to sending statements
  • Accounts receivable for both initial and ongoing statements
  • Additional responsibilities include (but not limited to): greeting patients and their families, scheduling appointments, answering phones, replying to e-mails/texts, sending statements. Applicant should have good attention to detail when scheduling appointments and entering in Communication logs into Open Dental.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in dental office administration with a focus on dental insurance verification and accounts receivable management.
  • At least 1 year of dental experience required (this experience must be within the past 5 years
  • Proficiency working on computers, electronic dental records, and integrated technology.
  • Positive, detailed oriented, and great customer service skills
  • Strong understanding of PPO dental insurance and detailed oriented with specifics of plan
  • Following a system to insurance these details are captured and entered into practice management system

Part-time or full-time position (24-40 hours). Minimum of 1 year dental required (This experience must be within the past 5 years); applicants without experience will not be considered.

Pay is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday schedule.
  • "School year" hours are typically 8:30-5:30, with Fridays ending at 2:30pm.
  • "Summer" hours are typically 8:00-5:00 with Fridays ending at 2:30pm.
