Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide comprehensive support to individuals requiring assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, home health, or assisted living environments, demonstrating exceptional patience, empathy, and attention to detail. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe changes in health status to inform care plans.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences, ensuring proper food safety standards.
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers using appropriate techniques to ensure safety.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, sanitation, and organization of living spaces.
- Document patient progress, update care plans, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care.
Experience
- Prior experience working in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is highly desirable, but not necessary.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs of deterioration or distress.
- Hands-on experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing procedures.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs.
- Experience in developing or following individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
