Personal Assistant Caregiver

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities. Duties

  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
  • Administer medication as prescribed, maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and care plans
  • Support patients with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or assisting with transfers safely
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring proper food safety standards
  • Conduct patient observations to identify changes in condition or behavior, reporting findings accurately
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry
  • Document care activities meticulously in compliance with healthcare protocols and privacy regulations
  • Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive atmosphere for residents or clients
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, or family members to develop or update personalized care plans

Skills

  • Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings with a focus on senior or disability care
  • Knowledge of first aid, CPR certification, and emergency response procedures for immediate safety interventions
  • Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
  • Ability to perform patient monitoring including vital signs assessment and recognizing signs of distress or deterioration
  • Experience with medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility tasks using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident transfers
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information
  • Compassionate demeanor combined with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or care needs while maintaining high standards of service
