Job Overview
We’re seeking a skilled Paralegal with a strong background in personal injury litigation to join our fast-paced law firm. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing plaintiff-side PI cases from pre-litigation through trial prep, including drafting pleadings, handling discovery, organizing medical records, and filing in both state and federal courts. Duties
- Draft and file legal documents including complaints, summons, government claims, and statements of damages.
- Prepare, propound, and respond to discovery requests, including form interrogatories, special interrogatories, requests for production, and RFAs.
- Order, review, and summarize medical records, billing statements, imaging reports, and provider notes; maintain organized logs.
- Calendar and manage all critical deadlines: SOL, discovery cutoffs, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation: create trial binders, organize exhibits, and coordinate with clients and expert witnesses.
- Perform factual and legal research, including liability research for Uber/Lyft, trucking regulations, and accident reports.
- Draft correspondence, meet & confer letters, deposition notices, subpoenas, and basic motions as needed.
- Manage case files in firm’s document and case management systems (e.g., Filevine, Litify).
- File court documents electronically in state and federal courts; ensure compliance with local rules and filing requirements.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, defense counsel, experts, and third-party vendors.
Skills
- Strong understanding of personal injury litigation, including auto, rideshare (Uber/Lyft), and commercial trucking cases
- Proficient in drafting legal documents, discovery responses, subpoenas, and court filings
- Skilled in reviewing and summarizing medical records and billing for case evaluation and trial preparation
- Familiar with state and federal court procedures, including e-filing and local rule compliance
- Excellent calendar management and organizational abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, counsel, courts, and providers
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines
- Comfortable working in a paperless, high-volume environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management systems (FileVine, Teams, Outlook, VineSign)
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM
- Spanish fluency (spoken and written) is highly preferred

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
