Slaughter & Lupton Law, PLLC, is growing. We are looking for a highly motivated and proficient personal injury staff! We are a looking to hire a legal assistant to work on personal injury cases and serve our personal injury clients from our Virginia Beach office location. This position is an additional position that we are adding to our existing pre-litigation team of paralegals and legal assistants in our Virginia Beach office serving our Virginia and North Carolina clients. The person filling this position will be responsible for pre-litigation personal injury cases, the collection and organization of documents and information into each case and working with and communicating regularly (frequent follow-up) with clients. We are looking for someone proficient in multitasking and utilizing case management software, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, email, calls, and texts to communicate with clients, health care providers, insurance adjusters, and other legal professionals and keeping all documents important to the cases they are working on organized.

List of Job Requirements:

• Communicate professionally and often with clients, reaching out and keeping clients informed about the progress of their case and assisting the attorneys with handling and moving forward clients’ injury claims.
• For attorney review, drafting demand letters and organizing supporting material including medical records and bills, police reports, photographs, and lost wage material.
• For attorney review, drafting settlement/disbursement statements and creating and modifying form letters.
• Maintain accurate and organized digital case files, ensuring all relevant information is readily accessible.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments and meetings.
• Assigning and following up with legal assistant specialists in obtaining clients’ medical records and bills.

Qualifications

• Preference for personal injury experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF software.
• Experience with Needles or NEOS Case Management software is preferred.
• VA and/or NC Notary certification is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and superb organizational abilities.
