We are seeking a qualified and motivated academic professional in Pharmacology to join our institution as an Assistant or Associate Professor. The candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and academic leadership in the field of pharmacology, contributing to the development of medical and healthcare students.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Academic Duties:
- Deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching in pharmacology
- Develop and update curriculum, teaching materials, and assessment methods
- Conduct lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and seminars
- Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations
- Participate in student assessments, examinations, and evaluations
Research & Scholarly Activities:
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in pharmacology
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals
- Apply for research grants and funding opportunities
- Stay updated with advancements in pharmacological sciences
Administrative & Institutional Duties:
- Participate in departmental and institutional committees
- Contribute to academic planning and quality assurance processes
- Assist in accreditation and regulatory compliance activities
- Mentor junior faculty (for Associate Professor level)
Qualifications & Requirements:
For Assistant Professor:
- MD Pharmacology / PhD in Pharmacology (or equivalent recognized qualification)
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching or research experience (preferred)
- Evidence of research publications in indexed journals
For Associate Professor:
- MD Pharmacology / PhD in Pharmacology (or equivalent recognized qualification)
- Minimum 5–8 years of teaching and/or research experience
- Strong record of publications in indexed/peer-reviewed journals
- Experience in supervising postgraduate students
- Proven academic and research leadership
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong subject knowledge in pharmacology and related disciplines
- Excellent teaching and presentation skills
- Research aptitude and analytical thinking
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural academic environment
Licensing / Additional Requirements (Bahrain / GCC – Preferred):
- Eligibility for licensing with relevant authorities (e.g., NHRA – Bahrain)
- Experience in accredited medical institutions is an advantage
