PHSYIOLOGY - ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated academic professional in Physiology to join our institution as an Assistant or Associate Professor. The role involves teaching, research, and academic development in the field of medical physiology for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Academic Duties:

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and small group teaching in Physiology
• Teach and guide undergraduate and postgraduate medical students
• Develop, review, and update curriculum, teaching materials, and assessment tools
• Conduct practical demonstrations and laboratory-based teaching
• Participate in examinations, evaluations, and academic assessments

Research Responsibilities:

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in Physiology and related biomedical sciences
• Publish research in peer-reviewed indexed journals
• Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and theses
• Participate in academic conferences and scientific presentations
• Contribute to research development within the department

Administrative & Institutional Duties:

• Participate in departmental meetings and academic committees
• Contribute to curriculum planning, accreditation, and quality assurance processes
• Assist in academic policy development and program improvement
• Support mentoring of junior faculty and students

Qualifications & Requirements:

For Assistant Professor:

• MBBS with MD / MSc / PhD in Physiology (or equivalent recognized qualification)
• Minimum 2–3 years of teaching or research experience in a recognized institution
• Evidence of research publications in peer-reviewed journals (preferred)

For Associate Professor:

• MBBS with MD / MSc / PhD in Physiology (or equivalent recognized qualification)
• Minimum 5–8 years of teaching and/or research experience in a medical or academic institution
• Strong record of publications in indexed/peer-reviewed journals
• Experience in supervising postgraduate or research students
• Demonstrated academic leadership experience

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of human physiology and biomedical sciences
• Excellent teaching and communication skills
• Research aptitude and analytical thinking
• Ability to use modern teaching methodologies and laboratory tools
• Strong organizational and mentoring abilities

Licensing / Additional Requirements (Bahrain / GCC – Preferred):

• Eligibility for academic/teaching appointment with relevant authorities (e.g., NHRA if applicable)
• Experience in accredited medical colleges or universities is an advantage
