PHYSICAL THERAPIST OUTPATIENT

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy position working in an outpatient clinic in close collaboration with Uro-gynecology providers. Services are primarily focused on Women’s Health / Pelvic Floor issues however also serve men with pelvic floor pain and dysfunction. UNMH is New Mexico’s only Level 1 trauma center and the state’s premier teaching hospital. Members of the Women’s Health P.T. team often collaborate with the providers to present continuing education programs and frequently participate in Uro-gynecology fellows’ interviews and research. Educational opportunities abound. Many of our therapists also teach in the UNM Physical Therapy program. Experience preferred however, new grads are welcome and, if selected, will be supported with a strong mentorship program.

Position Summary:
Organize and deliver medically-prescribed physical therapy to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of a body part. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups.

Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo 1 year directly related experience

Physical Conditions:
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
