Summary
The Recruiting Director, Physician Recruitment leads the strategy and execution of physician talent acquisition to support business growth and service expansion. Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development, this role manages the Physician Recruitment team, owns pipeline health and forecasting, and partners with Business Development, Operations, and Executive Leadership to ensure physician capacity aligns with contract commitments, market expansion, and long-term workforce plans.
Job Functions
Recruiting Strategy & Workforce Planning

Own the physician recruitment strategy aligned to growth targets, service lines, and geographic priorities

Partner with Business Development leadership to translate contract pipeline and expansion plans into staffing forecasts and recruiting priorities

Establish intake, prioritization, and service-level expectations for requisitions and urgent staffing needs
Team Leadership & Execution

Lead, coach, and develop the Physician Recruitment team; set goals, operating cadence, and accountability

Ensure consistent full-cycle execution: sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer process, and close

Create repeatable playbooks, outreach standards, and training to scale results and consistency
Sourcing & Pipeline Development

Build and maintain pipelines across targeted specialties and markets using proactive sourcing strategies

Drive sourcing initiatives: residency/fellowship outreach, conference/association presence, referral programs, and targeted campaigns

Strengthen physician community relationships and increase qualified inbound interest over time
Recruiting Operations & Metrics

Own recruiting dashboards and reporting (pipeline health, conversion rates, time-to-fill, offer acceptance, fall-off, source performance)

Improve workflow efficiency and data quality across systems (ATS/CRM, sourcing tools, interview scheduling, reporting)

Maintain a high-quality candidate experience with clear communication standards and scheduling responsiveness
Cross-Functional Partnership & Brand Presence
- Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development to strengthen employer brand and recruiting messaging within the physician community

Partner with Operations and leadership to align onboarding readiness, start dates, and staffing timelines

Ensure smooth handoffs to onboarding/credentialing partners (as applicable) with clear ownership boundaries
Compliance, Budget, and Vendor Management

Ensure recruiting practices align with applicable employment regulations and internal policies

Own recruiting budget, vendor relationships, and tool selection; negotiate contracts and manage renewals with ROI discipline
Qualifications Preferred

5+ years of progressive recruiting experience, including significant physician recruiting

3+ years of recruiting team leadership

Demonstrated success hiring physicians across multiple specialties and/or markets

Strong knowledge of physician compensation conversations and recruiting best practices

Experience with ATS/CRM systems, sourcing tools, and metric-driven recruiting operations

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience closely aligned with Business Development or growth-led workforce planning
