Pipeline ILI and Data Management Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Engineer with experience in Inspection and Mechanical Integrity of Long distance Pipeline Projects and Operation / Maintenance of existing pipelines in the Oil and Gas Industry

The Engineer shall perform the following

• Collect data on pipeline specifications, including maps, construction details, depth of cover, operating pressure, maintenance history, and geotechnical hazards.

• Comprehensive understanding of relevant regulations, Industry codes, and standards (e.g., ASME B31.4/ B31.8, API RP 1102/1104, ASME B16.5, NACE) to ensure compliance.

• Must be conversant with PODS – Pipeline Open Data Standard

• Communication with various stakeholders such as Pipeline Design/ Inspection/ ROW/Construction teams.

• Awareness of Pipeline fabrication, welding , installation, Destructive and Non Destructive , Hydrostatic testing and commissioning methods

• Aling ILI data within GIS, anomaly matching, and corrosion growth calcs

  • The current ILI inspections shall be loaded and aligned using GIS control points. Load, align and match ILI data utilizing the prescribed requirements/standards. Weld and anomaly matching to previous already loaded inspection. QC of the ILI data load and alignments.

  • Perform Anomaly matching between two latest inspections for verious piggable segments

  • Perform Corrosion Growth Calculations for assigned piggable segments

  • Upload of ILI Information to BP PODS database Alignment of ILI Inspection Data with BP GIS System Matching of anomalies between ILI Inspections Process for Progress Tracking of Different ILI Datasets

  • Pipeline Office studio tool shall be required

• Create ILI unit plots and Power BI dashboard to track ILI tool performance

• Create unit plots for about 42 ILI runs vs. Field NDE results.

• Create Power BI dashboard for historical ILI runs (UTWM, DEF, MFL, UTCD).

• Validate the dashboard with sample data to ensure accuracy and usability.

• Deploy the dashboard to the ILI Team and provide training on how to use it.

• This effort aims to standardize the tank RBI tool across BP, involving tanks within T&P.

• Build the Dashboard: Develop the dashboard for the chosen ILI tools and technologies.

• Deploy and Train: Deploy the dashboard to users and provide training on how to use it effectively.

• 8+ years’ experience with Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. Specialization in Pipeline Engineering is an advantage
• Experience in Oil and Gas domain with Upstream or Downstream refinery
• Conversant with PODS (Pipeline Open Data Standard) and Pipeline Office Studio tool.
• Exposure to RCM, Preventive maintenance
• Exposure to Risk Based Inspection is an advantage
