- Load Planning & Vehicle Fit
- Evaluate material characteristics (size, weight, handling needs) to ensure proper vehicle assignment.
- Determine and select the appropriate transport vehicle (e.g., truck type, container) for optimal fit and safety.
- Route Design & Geographic Coordination
- Develop optimal routes leveraging geographic knowledge to minimize distance, cost, and delivery time.
- Account for road types, terrain, traffic patterns, and regulatory restrictions.
- Scheduling & Dispatch Coordination
- Plan and schedule loading and dispatch timelines to meet delivery windows and operational targets.
- Liaise with warehouse staff, drivers, and clients to align on loading times and expectations.
- Operational Awareness & Process Alignment
- Monitor warehouse and loading operations closely, ensuring capacity constraints and timing align with schedules.
- Integrate with overall logistics workflows, maintaining communication across departments (warehouse, operations, dispatch).
- Carrier & Vendor Communication
- Coordinate with carriers and drivers, providing clear instructions regarding route, load specifics, and delivery requirements.
- Act promptly to address any disruptions or deviations during transit.
